Lesnes Abbey Woods has lots of different opportunities taking place throughout the week. Whether you want to gain experience for your CV, or contribute to the community, there will be something for you.
Weekend Volunteering
Nature Conservation - 1st Sunday of every month, 10am – 1pm Meeting outside Chestnuts Kiosk
The activities that this group undertake are varied and seasonal. Help manage the Woods by clearing scrub and invasive plants, creating glades, maintaining the ponds and heath.
Friends of Lesnes Abbey & Woods (FoLAW) at Lesnes Farmers Market -2nd Sunday of every month, 9am – 3pm Meeting in the Monk’s Garden
Help on the FoLAW stall selling merchandise and memberships, meet the public and learn how to give tours of the Abbey & Woods.
Group Litter Pick - 3rd Sunday of every month, Noon - 2pm. Meeting outside Lesnes Abbey Lodge Office (opposite side to the Kiosk)
Join the friendly litter pickers. All equipment is provided just bring a willingness to get stuck in!

Volunteer at The Clearing
Saturdays and Sundays (look out for dates & times)
Creative Nature HQ (a not-for-profit organisation) work with the Forest Club volunteer group who help support events and activities that promote woodland crafts and conservation in the unique space of The Clearing. To sign up please go to here
Weekday Volunteering
Gardening - Tuesdays, 10am – 12 Noon
Whether you have experience or want to learn, you’ll be welcome. This friendly group help maintain the gardens throughout the year and have been propagating endangered species!
Nature Conservation - Wednesdays, 10am – 1pm
The Nature Conservation volunteers have a passion for wildlife, they help manage the Woods by clearing scrub and invasive plants, creating glades, maintaining the ponds and heath.
To join just turn up on either Tuesday or Wednesday (or both) at Lesnes Abbey Lodge Office (opposite side to the Kiosk) at 9.45am to register.
Forest Club at The Clearing - Thursdays, 10am – 2pm
This is an opportunity to learn woodland crafts and meet other people who love the woodland. To sign up please go to here
Lesnes Abbey Woods is just a 10-minute walk from Abbey Wood Station and is on a variety of bus routes.
